Iran News(27 November 2005) -- 2,8 tons of
Narcotic Drugs Confiscated in Zahedan. The drugs were discovered in a
drug-busting police operation in the city of Zahedan during which police
officers inspected some vehicles in the city which led to the discovery of
the haul, Colonel Ahmad-Ali Goudarzi told IRNA. The drugs seized included
2000 kilograms of opium, 400 kilograms of hashish, 400 kilograms of heroin
and other narcotics, the police officer added. He noted that over 100
weapons were also confiscated during he aforementioned operation and 39
drug traffickers arrested. Sistan-Baluchestan shares borders with Kerman
province, a major route of drug traffickers. |
