ECO Senior Official’s meeting on Drug Control scheduled to be held on December 20-22, 2005 in Ankara with the help of TADOC. 

The participants will share the experience on drug control situation in the region, exchange point of views regarding intra-regional cooperation with International Organizations and harmonization drug-legal structure of the Member States.

1)         Inauguration of the Meeting.

2)         Election of the Chairman.

3)         Adoption of the Agenda.

4)         Appointment of the Drafting Committee.

5)         Presentation by the ECO Secretariat on ECO Cooperation in the field of drug control and other related matters.

6)         Statements of the Heads of Delegations.

7)         Review of the ECO Action Plan on drug control, in order to make it more compatible with the new circumstances and realities related to Drug Control issues in the region;

8)         Evaluation of the activities of DCCU, to know with a view to find its short comings, and to make new plans for its empowerment;

9)         Sharing the experiences of member states on drug control related issues through:-

                   a)    Exchange of trainers to conduct operational training courses;

                   b)    Organizing training courses for Liason Officers of the member states on strategic analysis of drugs and rising                                  their specialized knowledge and skills.

 10)     Exchange of views regarding intra-regional cooperation and mechanism for enhancement of cooperation with                                 international organizations like UNODC.

11)      Harmonization of legal structures of the member states in the field of drug control in agreement with UN Convention.

12)      Discussion and preparation of strategy on drug and border control.

13)      Any other business.
